Student Body

The Office of Institutional Research and the Student Records Office at WCC collects and publishes data on our graduation/retention rates, student body diversity, and employment data for graduates as required by the Department of Education.

The data is updated annually in September.

Graduation and Retention Rates

We are required to report the graduation rates of full-time First-Time in Any College (FTIAC) degree-seeking students. Since the majority of students at WCC attend part-time, they are not included in our calculations.

To calculate graduation rates, we multiply the length of the program by 1.5, or 150%. For example, a full-time student taking a 12-month program is expected to graduate within 18 months (2-year degree x 1.5 = 3 years).

  • Transfer rates of first-time, full-time in any college in a declared degree or certificate is 25%.
  • Graduation rates of first-time, full-time in any college in a declared degree or certificate is 17%. Additional graduation/transfer data available at the IPEDS Data Center (www.nces.ed.gov/ipeds/ ).
  • Retention rates of first-time, full-time in any college in a declared degree or certificate is 70%. Additional retention data available at the IPEDS Data Center (www.nces.ed.gov/ipeds/ ).
